I know it’s a perspective issue, but I perceive it to be frustrating… drawing legs in perspective, the light from my WACOM reflects tears of frustration. I must change my perspective. I raise my shaking fist toward the sky.

I must consume sustenance.

So, I added the freckles I forgot (again) and increased the shadows to my splash image, also adding highlights to her hair. Pretty happy with it, but I think I’m going to go back and edit her face a little, I really want her to look as young as she is suppose to be, maybe it’s the lines under her eyes or the dark ink outlines, but she seems older than 17 years old. :(
I thought I fixed the hair on the full body image on the right, but that doesn’t look right.
Also, been slacking on my character description. I’m not really sure what I’m suppose to put in there, so I’m going to have to track down some concept art books and see what type of info is standard.
All and all this week started off a bit slower than I’d liked, but now that I’m over the hump (and finished with my videography project) I anticipate a momentum shift.

This was my second attempt at the Order of Khaos branding project. Playing with some positive and negative space, really wanting to push that street, revolutionary, feel.
The original idea was a simple one that quickly got out of hand as my (then) newly downloaded Photoshop watercolor brushes possessed me.
Added some shadow, duplicate image with an opacity change. I wanted it to feel like those ghost images you see of the people caught in nuclear explosions. Using a flaming outline to separate the midground image with the background one.
I think this is where I got my OK movie poster idea from. Looking at it now, this is way too centered (vertically), it feels like it the whole image wants to be dropped down until the text is resting on the lower third. I like that old propaganda poster feel the top portion of it is giving me. I might re-visit this sometime in the future.

Order of Khaos (OK) brand creation project. Is a brand my friend came up with and I kind of ran with, coming up with ways to interpret and market it. I had an idea of set collection of movie poster style advertisements. This was the first (and only one) I came up with. It might be interesting to revisit this in the future.

Last semester I had an assignment to create an animated advertisement for a website promoting a beverage of our choosing. While it’s great to have the creative freedom to choose the type of beverage (which greatly influences the tone of the ad as a whole), it was also a challenge because we also had to create a logo too.
I used Illustrator to create the logo. Power Up is a energy drink, whose demographic is teenagers and college students. I had the initial concept of the old comic book action sequences, so the logo was saying that the drink would wake them up or energize them like a punch to the face. :)
Used a monster can image I found via my good friend Google and enlisted the help of Photoshops clone tool to cover up the Monster logo and text.
The Lightning was created using custom brushes I found via some rigorous Google searches (there are so many cool custom brushes out there).
Once I had all the pieces, I put them together in Photoshop and created an animated GIF.

Had a lot of fun working on this logo and was able to learn some new tricks in Illustrator too, which is always a good thing.

Logo project from my Illustration I class from this previous Summer Semester. Going for a mostly geometric look and feel, incorporating elements I see consistently with military logos and insignias.
It’s been many moons since I worked on anything Blue Moon related… no wonder it’s taking me so long to complete. :)
