Foundation Forgotten

Super excited with where this image has taken off to, put in some serious time yesterday on it.  I like the added turquoise and cyan blues… really going with a pastel feel on the environment.  The girl hiding in the tree lost a bunch of her volume and form along the way, so I had to go back in and recreate her anatomy, so I can re-clothe her.

I like Jaelle’s earlier clothing I originally had on her, but felt they looked a bit too much like Rey from The Force Unleashed, the later stuff was cool, but I ended up not a fan of it either.  I’ll probably have to take a trip to Pinterest and see what cool clothing reference I can find her.

Not sure what I’m going to do about The Ones Who Seek.

1.  They don’t look as menacing/scary as I had originally wanted.  I think I nailed down strange, but fell short of the intimidation factor I wanted.

2.  The large towering head looked great in silhouette, but not so much later on.  More experimenting will be necessary.

3.  Their floating companion looks like Pikachu.  lol

Where we left off…

Another day of creation.
Another smile.

The journey continues…

  1. Hey Jesse, Xenia here, I used to write in
Recently started a new blog, with more art and less unrelated rants, hopefully :) Realized I lost your blog somewhere between moving house and moving blog, and I missed watching your progress and drawings.

Really like the framing and staging on this one. Sounds like it’s for a story/project I missed while being away, have a lot of catching up to do!

    • Hey there,

I wondered what had happened to you. Not that I could say much seeing as I fell off the blogging grid for a hot minute myself. :)

I love the look and feel of the new blog. Looks like you’re off to a great start. <3
